Nelson Arts Guide
The Nelson Arts Guide is a 140 page book that profiles the artists of the Nelson region. To differentiate this product from previously similar publications a vibrant red was selected for the cover to catch people’s eye, and keep the title of the book bold. The words are written in the style of renowned Nelson artist Toss Wollaston’s scrawled handwriting, printed in black and white on the red, and then embossed and matt laminated for extra tactile effect.
The project started with Downing Design helping the Nelson Arts Guide team develop a format and structure for the book that was fresh and appealing. Prototypes of the book were made to ensure the final product would be appealing and cost effective.
Items produced include
140 page book design; print management; pre-sale prospectus; print advertising; launch invite; poster; t-shirts; publishing consulting; power point; and banners.
“Regional Art Development Initiative or RADi have engaged Downing Design In three major projects since 2011. They have created two websites, branding and designed extensive marketing material for our written and web based marketing.
The 2011 Regional Arts guide and Art Expo Nelson 2012 and 2013 are Arts based projects that required a keen eye and good ear to satisfy excellent design standards.
Downing Design listened to our requirements and delivered stunning results for all of our projects. Their company strength is customer focus and satisfaction with the ability to adapt to changing environments. RADi would recommend the Downing Design “Team” to any company requiring design and branding excellence.”
